Fundraising Page for Strut Your Mutt St. Louis - 2013

Bond County Humane Society (BCHS) was formed in 2003. Our mission is to provide temporary homes for stray, unwanted and neglected cats and dogs until permanent loving homes can be found. We also encourage spay/neuter and offer low cost spay/neuter programs for pet owners to help control pet overpopulation. BCHS is dedicated to creating an environment that enhances awareness of homeless animals and support for the humane treatment of these animals. BCHS is based on the core value that all animals deserve to be treated in a humane manner. We believe that awareness and education allow animals and humans to come together, for the benefit of both. When BCHS takes in any animal we make a commitment to enhance their lives while they need us to care for them and until they are placed in a loving home.
This is best described in a story about a dog named Sheila. She had been abandoned along with 4 puppies. The puppies were quickly adopted, but Sheila stayed behind because she was a special needs dog that suffered by Separation Anxiety. Sheila resided at our dog shelter for nearly 1-1/2 years. Many accommodations were made in her housing and care to address her special needs. In May of 2013 Sheila was adopted by a family who was committed and excited to continue our effort to give a Sheila a full and happy life.
Together, we can save the lives of homeless pets. Every day, more than 9,000 pets are killed in America's shelters simply because they don't have a home. Each one an individual. Each one a valued life worth saving. 9,000. That number should be zero. And it can be.
Best Friends Animal Society and local animal rescue organizations and shelters (No More Homeless Pets "Network partners"), are joining together to bring that number to zero. The donations raised through our Strut Your Mutt team will be used in our community to fund adoption programs and spay/neuter services, to ultimately impact the number of pets entering and leaving the shelters.
Please join us for this fun-filled event either by registering for our team or donating to one of our existing team members. Your donation is tax-deductible and our organization keeps 100% of the money raised. Together, we can bring about a time of No More Homeless Pets®
